Tech – I don’t think so

Posted by putsimply on 12th February 2009

Being a tech PR agency we regularly turn to the BBC Technology web pages to check out what is happening out there in tech world.

This week I have been struck by two headlines – one on Monday and the other today – which have seemed to me more celeb news than technology.  On Monday was the news that Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple with Steve Jobs, has signed up for ‘Dancing with the Stars’, the US version of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.  Today it is that the Queen will be launching her new website at a reception attended by Sir Tim Berners-Lee.

However, further down the page is the fact that US and Russian satellites have collided in space, the first time that has happened.  There they are floating around with infinity around them and they run into each other.

Now that’s what I call technology news.  Should that not be the headline story? Or maybe the use of headcams by the Derby Police force with fast download of information which allows the bobby to get back on the beat faster.

Come on BBC tech editors, leave the celeb stuff for the news pages and give us hardcore tech.
