Announcing a different type of Christmas tree this year

Posted by Zoe McFarland on 22nd December 2021

Our current values reflect who we are as an agency and as a team: Be Bold, Be Informed, Be Exceptional and Be Yourself. But this year, we felt there was an element missing — how we are connected to, and conscious of, our impact on the wider world.

Over the years, we have worked as a team to donate to global and local charities, established our own eco-friendly practices, and advised clients on environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) strategies — but we haven’t tied all this together… yet.

With COP26 firmly addressing the need for everyone to do their part in tackling climate change and the continued drive to improve diversity, equity and inclusiveness in education and business, we want to commit to making a difference.

So, in 2022, we are launching our fifth value: Do Good. We’ll focus on how we can make a positive difference to our clients, community and society, and support movements that make change.

Over the next 12 months you’ll see the team activate initiatives they are passionate about under this value, but this Christmas we’ve kicked things off by planting 1,000 trees as gifts to our clients.

Through EcoMatcher, we are supporting Conserve Natural Forests (CNF), a non-profit organisation based in Pai, Thailand.

The organisation aims to restore the degraded tropical ecosystem, preserve local old-growth forests, and promote agroforestry and other sustainable farming practices through education. Our investment supports local families and will continue to reduce CO2 over the trees’ lifetime.

On the EcoMatcher platform we can track our trees — their specific location, growth and species — and find out more about the farmer that looks after them. We can even name all our trees and chat to them!

We’re excited to track the progress of our forest, plant more trees and formalise our other initiatives. Watch this space!
