Kicking off the open revolution

IoT steals the show at MWC

A household name in the cloud, desktop and mobile handset space, Ubuntu, from open-source software giant Canonical, had big ambitions for the burgeoning IoT ecosystem.

Wildfire was tasked with creating buzz around Ubuntu’s new Core IoT operating system at the world’s largest mobile conference, MWC, where competition for media mindshare is fierce.

We set the stage by organising Canonical’s first ever dedicated analyst day. Then tenacious media engagement and creative demos at MWC put Ubuntu in the spotlight, with Brandwatch analytics placing Ubuntu in the top 1% of the 24,000+ brands spoken about at the event — ahead of Apple, LG and Microsoft.

Wildfire has raised awareness of our IoT business through a mix of proactive media relations and regular stream of opinion and research-led content which has generated significant leads and helped to position us as a thought leader within the industry.
