It’s been promised for ages and finally Twitter has delivered by beginning to roll out its analytics product to a select few.
With the recent roll out of Promoted Tweets, it is unsurprising that Twitter is keen to give advertisers and businesses more insight into how their activities on the social network are performing. Twitter Analytics seems to be the answer to this.
According to Mashable, “users will be able to see a plethora of data about their account; for example, information about which tweets are most successful, which tweets caused people to unfollow, and who the most influential users are that reply and retweet their messages.”
The screenshots that are circulating round the web show dashboards that record the number of tweets, retweets and favourited tweets over a six hour period, but with the option to go back 31 days. This will be great news for many, with tweet archives being significantly less than this at present on Twitter.com. It’s also interesting to note that there seems to be the opportunity to select tweets by ‘good’, ‘best’ and ‘all’, suggesting that some kind of sentiment analysis is built in. There is also a separate dashboard for Promoted Tweet users.
Mashable is also reporting that the product will be free and that there are no plans to charge. There is no information yet on when wider roll out will occur, but watch this space and we’ll update you when we know more!
